fish oil for cardiovascular health | Effects of High Blood Pressure

When you are talking with your doctor, one of the common problems that come up is the effects that elevated blood pressure can have on your body.

Sometimes your doctor will tell you that you have high blood pressure and you need to deal with immediately. Other times you may find that you have elevated blood pressure, which means that it is higher than it should be but not high enough to set all the warning bells ringing.

While the problems of high blood pressure, and elevated blood pressure, are very common in The West the fact that may people have the problem does not reduce the risk of high or elevated blood pressure having very serious consequences for your health.

Also known as hypertension, high blood pressure affects the body in ways that many you may not even imagine. It is related to an extensive list of other diseases, some of which are potentially fatal. Hypertension can also potentially bring about trauma in the heart and arterial walls and most of us are aware the heart attack and stroke are right up high on the list of causes of death.

Aside from people having a heart attack or a stroke, having high blood pressure is an intensely harmful problem in and of itself. When only hypertension comes into play, without symptoms of other related health problems, it still puts serious pressure on your body and is called a hypertensive crisis. This occurs when blood pressure levels reach a point far too high for the body to withstand.

If you do not do something to deal with this problem promptly, a hypertensive crisis could very well cause death. However, even in situations not as extreme as that, a hypertensive crisis can lead to irreversible organ damage as such a crisis usually affects specific systems. The main organ systems affected by this problem is the central nervous system, the cardiovascular system, and the renal system.

Having a hypertensive crisis and being at such risk is reason enough to be alarmed by a high blood pressure reading. Allowing blood pressure to remain high has long-term effects on your health that can be an underlying factor in a whole range of other health issues. For example, any kind of pressure of the blood puts stress on the arterial walls.

An elevated blood pressure puts extensive stress on these walls, causing the heart to work harder than in should and other organs to be stressed. Elevated blood pressure also promotes the growth of unhealthy tissue, something known as atheroma. The higher the pressure of the blood, the more stress is put on the heart and the more atheroma that forms. Over time, this will lead to thicker walls of the heart that will weaken faster than they should.

These are not the only effects hypertension has on the body. A persistent rate of hypertension is a leading cause in some very serious conditions, such as strokes, heart attacks, heart failures, arterial aneurysms, chronic renal failure, and a form of diabetes.

It is fairly widely know that for around 40% of people who die from fatal heart attacks, the first indicator that there is any problem at all IS the fatal heart attack itself. If you have already been diagnosed as having high blood pressure, or even just elevated blood pressure, then you are not in that 40% as you have already had a warning!

You should look into medical and alternative health methods to bring your blood pressure down. Weight loss is often an extremely powerful way to reduce the effects of elevated blood pressure. Using fish oils to get Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids into your body is a simple way to support your cardio system and has a dramatic positive result for many people. It is well worth taking the time to investigate your options..

Having a high blood pressure, or even just elevated blood pressure, should not be taken lightly. The risks are high and the effects far-reaching. Hypertension has been found as a side effect of many other illnesses on top of the ones mentioned, so having a high blood pressure should never be taken lightly.

Fish oil for cardiovascular health | Omega 3 & 6 Fish oils can save your life!

Nowadays Omega 3 and Omega 6 fish oils are old news and many people are a bit blasé about them. They are not the latest, trendy, thing any more.

Why should YOU be looking into them more closely RIGHT NOW?

Let me tell you a story.

I know of a couple who owned a timber yard in a county town my state down here in Australia.

The couple were long term business people and quite clear in their own mind about things. Not really open to new information.

A friend of mind knew them well and talked with them about nutrition for weight control and Fish Oils for cardiovascular support. They were not interested.

The wife found she had blood pressure problems that seemed to get worse and worse so the nutrition discussion happened again with the same outcomes.

Finally the health issues became acute and her doctor did tests that showed severe blockages in the arteries. The doctor organized an urgent operation and she had a triple bypass.

Problem solved, apparently.

To support the operation there were medical checkups to keep an eye on things and over a fairly short period the problems resurfaced. Finally the doctor sat the lady down and told her that the new arteries were blocking and if she did not do something about it there were no medical options available to her and she was likely to die.

This was enough to open up the discussions about nutritional products for weight loss and, more specifically, Omega 3 fish oil products.

She used these products and within a few months received extremely pleasing news from a medical checkup. He doctors told her that the blood flow had cleared in the new arteries they had given her and the crisis had been averted. What they were confused about though, and they could not explain, was that the arteries that they had bypassed had also cleared and giving quite reasonable blood flow!

This is worth pondering. If you check out what is available, you can determine what might be useful for your personal situation. You can then use everything that is safe to use to assist with cardiovascular issues BEFORE there is a crisis requiring medical intervention. A bit of time in research and few dollars spent on quality nutrition products seems to a sensible option to ignoring the problem and then having to have an operation or suffer with a heart attack or a stroke.

There are a range of sources of Omega 3 & 6 on the market, not just fish oils, and there is a huge range of qualities. If you are going to use fish oil it needs to be from deep sea, cold water, fish or you will be getting the oils but not the outcomes. I also needs to be free of mercury and heavy metals so it does not bring its own contamination.

With results like we have been talking about you can see it is time for you to do your own research, check things out, get the information, as soon as possible. Don’t wait until you are faced with medical intervention to deal with impending health problems.

Be Aware of the Risks of High Blood Pressure and Diabetes!

Blood pressure is a major contributing factor, or a symptom of, a lot of health problems. One of those problems where high blood pressure is both a contributing factor, and an indicator of higher then normal health risk, is diabetes.

For people who are diabetic, it is extremely important to keep hypertension, high blood pressure, within normal ranges.

Having high blood pressure puts stress on the heart and, of course, on the arteries and veins that run throughout your body. Too much pressure in the arteries can lead to blood vessels bursting. In the brain, this is a stroke, but burst vessels anywhere in the body can be a huge problem. People with diabetes already have issues with their cardiovascular system and adding additional stress is a bad idea. In fact, people with diabetes and high blood pressure, are about twice as likely as others to suffer a heart attack or a stroke.

Along with the general stress that high blood pressure puts on all of your body there is a high level of concern with the kidneys for people with diabetes. Kidneys are affected by the condition anyway as they have an extra load to deal with due to the sugars in the blood. When high blood pressure is present, along with the sugars and impurities that the diabetes bring, then it is easy to damage the small filtering vessels of the kidneys. If this is allowed to go unchecked then massive damage can result.

The best way to avoid this damage is to avoid the high blood pressure in the beginning.

Pay attention to food choices, not just for the sugar content but also for the overall effect it will have on your general health. Eat lots of vegetables, reduce high fat foods. Pay some serious attention to nutrition supplements that can help you to keep well. Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids (fish oils) are something that you should investigate to see what they can offer you.

Work with your doctor to put a program together to keep your situation under control and to monitor your progress.

If you are overweight look at dropping some weight as that is the best thing you can do in the medium term to ease a blood pressure problem.

Put together a simple exercise program to help build fitness and to keep weight under control. Make sure it is strong enough to challenge you but not so vigorous at the start that it becomes a health risk itself.

If you have diabetes then you already have problems. If you pay attention to your overall health and keep you blood pressure and weight under control then it is a problem that you can easily live with and that can improve over time. If you ignore it and allow your weight and blood pressure to be higher than they should be then the damage of the diabetes will be worse, maybe much worse.

These steps to control blood pressure are easy to do and also easy not to do, it is your choice. You decide what you will do now and your decisions will decide for you what the outcomes are for your health in the longer term.
